Weekend Update

This weekend we decided to take a trip up to Tulsa, OK. It’s the next big city here. We went to Garden Ridge and Harbor Freight to do a bit of shopping. We picked up a few things for our home that we aren’t able to get here in this samll town. Sometimes you need a big city to get things done. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this or not, but my sister –n- law here in McAlester have been walking for the past month. She’s even joined Weight Watchers in an effort to get us fit. Now we have all the secrets to success. I’ll keep you posted on all of the results. I’ll post pictures soon hopefully of a smaller me.-lol (So far, I’ve lost 8 pounds!! YES!!)

OSP Rodeo (Oklahoma Prison Rodeo)

Last weekend Ed & I attended the OSP Rodeo. It’s an annual event held here in McAlester were everyone outside of the local prison comes in to see the inmates perform all the horse roppin’ and calf tying tricks they’ve learned. Also other state inmates come to compete against them which makes it pretty fun as well. It was really cool actually. I thought I would be soooo scared with inmates and bulls, but it was WELL guarded to say the least.{smile} One of the highlights of the whole evening was the HUMONGUS funnel cakes. I thought Texas had "Texas Size" Funnel Cakes...yeah no.

Happy Birthday Tiffani & Helen!!

As many of you know or may not know actually, my (Tiffani's) 30th birthday was Aug. 4th. Ed being the wonderful husband that he is, (big smile) surprised me at work with a flower/plant basket of beautiful pink flowers. That was an instant indication to everyone at work, something was going on, so everyone passed saying Happy Birthday. Later that afternoon, Ed surprised me again with a dinner out with family and friends at Chilli's. I really enjoyed the company... along with my MOLTEN CHOCOLATE LAVA!! Scrumptious!! The weekend of the 9th, we strolled down to Texas to celebrate my mother's birthday.(August 11, 2008) I will NOT mention how old she turned. :) Ed and I took her to Spring Creek BBQ and made her smell great with tons of Bath and Body Works. We had a good time hanging out with her. Birthday fun for us both!!

Busy Little Bees!!

The Oklahoma Wilbur's have been some busy, busy little bees lately. Let's catch up shall we!! June 28th Ed and I drove to Colorado to a friends wedding for the weekend. It was wonderful weather and beautiful scenery!! The wedding was great and everything was gorgeous. We visited some of Ed's old stomping grounds, as well as friends and family. On the way back home we scooped up our niece an nephew to bring them back to Oklahoma to spend time with grandma and grandpa. It was fun to entertain little ones on the way back home.
Last weekend we headed to Arkansas to the Diamond Mines in Murfreesboro. It was a family trip with Ed's family and niece & nephew. Sad to say we didn't find any diamonds. We did find Quartz, which means we were looking in the right place. So, Ed & I "sneakingly grabbed" a bucket of Arkansas dirt to bring home and try our luck here. You'll know when we find diamonds, cause you'll hear our screams wherever you are!!-lol
This weekend we head to our old home Dallas, Texas. We have a family sealing to attend in the Dallas Temple. We are looking forward to seeing friends and family there again. I have pictures of most of these recent events and will post them as soon as I can. Hopefully after all of these busy weekends we can just stay home and sleep in!! :)

I got the job!!

FYI- I'm a little late in posting that I got the job at Allied Waste, I started last week. Yes, I work at a landfill. Eewwww!! Not really. I'm in the office with other ladies in the air conditioning and it's not smelly. The occasional fly does sneak in, but that's about it. It's nice to be working again and learning all of the "lingo." A box, roll-off, pull-off, and dump truck were all greek to me, but now I'm catching on. This is my second week, wish me luck!!
My mom will be visiting us here in Oklahoma this Tuesday before Ed & I head out of town for the weekend. Ed and I leave this weekend to Colorado for a friends wedding. It's will be nice to enjoy cooler weather and the beautiful scenery. I'll post pictures of our trip there.

Job Possiblity

We've been living in Oklahoma going on two months now, and I haven't been working. Ed told me to take a break and I've really enjoyed my break so far, but now I think it's time for me to stop hanging around the house and bring in some extra money for our household. Since I have no little ones to take care of at the moment, it seems like the perfect time. I have had several job offers since I have been here, but they were not the pay I wanted. It's nice to pick and choose which job to take. :) The other day, I applied for a position at Ed's old company Allied Waste in their office. They called me back today for a second interview tomorrow. Everyone there seems to be very nice. I met them once before at Ed's Christmas party before we got married, but I don't remember any of them. We'll see how that works out. I have plenty of applications out at other places as well, so it's just a matter of who else calls me back.

Recent Events

"Chocolate Molten Lava" (MMMmmmm!)

Our trip to Texas was great! We enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. It was a bit of a shocker to get back to the hustle of getting around in Dallas. Remembering the 10 different ways to get to one place after being gone only one month! I don't miss that at all, though. I'll take the occasional grandma and grandpa here that take it a bit slow down the road or don't realize the light has turned green, verses the Dallas traffic any day.-lol Ed & I did enjoy a Chili's dessert "Chocolate Molten Lava" for our anniversary treat while there in Texas. It's our favorite dessert! (That's not the actual desserts name, we just can't ever remember it's real name, so if you go to Chili's you won't find "our" name for it on the menu.)

The Castle Muskogee, OK

After our "Trip to Texas", Memorial Day, Ed & I enjoyed a day at the Renaissance Festival at the Castle in Muskogee, OK. Plenty of sword fights, fancy dresses/cleavage, huge Turkey Legs and Funnel Cakes for everyone. It was pretty hot and humid though, but neither one of us got too toasty from being out there. After attending they also gave us free tickets to the "Haunted Castle and Maze" for Halloween. Ed's been before and said it was really fun. I totally see how that would be scary and we look forward to going together.
