B-E-A Utiful Colorado!!

Ed & I took a trip to Colorado the end of February for our nephews baptism. We really loved our time there with friends and family. Luckily, we were there to enjoy some of the winter snow!! Here are a few pictures of our trip.

The mountains and ground only had a light dusting of snow this day, but it snowed twice before we left.

So, we finally made it to his brother's apartment.(Yes!!) A well needed rest after a 7 hour drive. (I'm so glad we decided to spend the night at the halfway point in Kansas. I don't know if would have made it.)

They had a waterfall with cliff divers that would dive into this cool pool. If you've ever been to the Mayan Restaurant in Sandy, Utah, you know what I mean.

Christmas in Oklahoma

With our busy schedule this month,

we were lucky to get the Christmas Tree put up.

It looked great when we finally did.

We even got the chance to put a few gifts under the tree!

Utah Vacation

Ed & I took an eight day vacation to Utah the end of October, for our my nieces/ brother's birthday's and my nieces baptism. We had a great time and loved being in Utah! There were so many things to do in Utah and we really loved hanging out with family.

The Timpanogas Mountains by my brother's home got snow while we were there.

Ed & I also toured downtown Salt Lake City. This is the beautiful conference center.

Here's the spectacular Salt Lake City Temple. We also had the pleasure of doing a LIVE session here, which was a totally awesome experience for us both.

Here's the beautiful Mt. Timpanogo's Temple literally 3 minutes from my brother's house.

We did a session here too.

We also visited the wonderful Provo Temple. Since we were in Utah with all of these Temples so close, we had to check out as many as we could!

It took a while for Joseph to warm up to us, but after a day or so... Ed and Joseph were buddies.

Saturday's of Goodness...

I just had to post our wonderful past few Saturdays. I'll share the two that just really stood out to Ed & I. (Sorry if I get a little long winded telling the story.) :)

We all know Ed is a "truck guy" and he has been wanting to upgrade to a full size truck. It was a beautiful Saturday about 3 weeks ago and Ed & I decided to go to a Dodge dealership near here in a little town called Checotah, OK. (*Checotah is where Carrie Underwood is from.) Anyway, we get to this dealership and it was literally a "mom & pop" dealership. The only reason we went with the Dodge dealership is because my work gives a substantial discount. Something about this dealership just didn't feel right, and we figured they would in no way be able to honor my work discount because they weren't big enough. So, we decided to head to Tulsa, OK to see what we could find. On the way to see what Tulsa had, we stopped in a little town called Muskogee, OK to get gas and drinks for the road. While Ed was pumping gas, I decided that I would just stand outside with him and wait to go with him inside to pay for gas and get drinks. As I was standing there, I happened to look down at the ground and saw something flapping at the bottom of my feet. I soon realized it was money and reached to pick it up. In the process of picking up that one bill, I noticed there were other bills flapping and flying away around my feet. I yelled to Ed in shock to "LOOK!". I ran to catch all the bills I could see. On my way back to Ed's truck I looked around, holding the money in full view of everyone, hoping that someone would come up to me and say "Oh, thank you so much for saving my gas money!" But...that didn't happen? I walked to Ed and as he finished pumping the gas, and no one at any of the pumps said a thing. Ed was shocked by what I had found. We decided to head in the store, still with the money in full view, in case someone inside was looking for their gas money. We get in the store, grab our drinks, head to the register to pay for gas and drinks. The cashier only charges us $2.50 for our drinks. We look at each other puzzled wondering if she's going to do a separate receipt for our gas. She's says "Thanks...have a great day" and slides Ed's debit card on the counter back to him. Again, we are puzzled? Ed tells her he needs to pay for $15.oo worth of gas, and gently slides the card back to her on the counter. She tells him "No, it's already been taken care of", sliding Ed back his card. Our confused looks get MORE confused. In the meantime, a customer behind us is getting a good chuckle, as he's wondering why we are fighting with this cashier who insists on giving us free gas. Ed tells her he pushed the button at the pump for pay inside and he was only just now charged for the drinks. After brief consultation with her fellow cashier, she realized her error. The scenario is that as Ed was pumping gas outside, a lady came inside and prepaid $15.00 on a pump. The cashier assumed that the lady was Ed's wife and was simply paying for the gas he was getting. The cashier gladly charged Ed's card for the gas, realizing if she didn't she would be in trouble. So as we make our way back to Ed's truck, we can't believe the cashier was insisting on giving us $15.00 of free gas and Ed had to insist on being charged for it. Once in the truck, I realize I had forgotten all about the money I had found on the ground, which was still in my hand. No one inside, nor outside the gas station had said a word about losing any money. We decided, "Finders keepers" and counted our find of $6.00 dollars. Luck was on our side!! So, we decided to head on to Tulsa. We took this turnpike that we didn't really know to get us to Tulsa. We make it to a town called Broken Arrow (gotta love all these Indian names) ,and as we drive we notice all kinds dealerships to our left, but we have missed the exit for them. I mention to Ed to take the next exit, because dealerships are in bunches sometimes. As we take the next exit to back track to the group dealerships, BAAM there's the Dodge dealership right in front of us. We are beyond happy finding a Dodge dealership having no idea exactly were we are. We head inside and get greeted by the dealers grandson. To make a long story short on this one, the grandson hooked my husband up...after about 5 hours! My husband is the proud owner of a new full size Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which is 2 years newer than the previous truck, and with a payment $10.00 less than his other truck. We love it!! After this "Saturday of Goodness" we decided to celebrate by having dinner at Steak and Shake. As we drove home we were grinning ear to ear as we could not believe our marvelous day.

Saturday of Goodness Part 2

After getting Ed's beloved new truck about 3 weeks ago, the "service airbag" light came on. Not wanting to have an airbag pop out at either one of us as we ride down the road, we decided to take a trip back to the dealership this weekend to get that fixed. They discovered it was a blown fuse which was an easy fix and a warranty item. After getting the truck fixed, Ed & I thought back to our past experience the day we got the truck and said..."Let's shoot for another good day." We left the dealership and headed to "Bass Pro Shop." My husband loves that place because it's a campers/fisherman's/hunters paradise. I must say that I had a great time too, looking at all the things they had inside. As we were leaving, we noticed this wonderful smokey BBQ smell. We saw there was a restaurant in the Bass Pro Store. They had this special out for display for $6.95, BBQ Salmon BLT with seasoned fries. Our mouths watered as we decided this was where we were having lunch! The meal was fabulous! It was light, tasty, and the perfect amount to not be heavy on the stomach. They even had this huge aquarium with tropical fish that entertained us while we ate. Inspired by the aquarium, we decided to head south closer to home to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, OK. Ed & I loved it! There was this enclosure made of 4 inch thick glass that let about 4 different kinds of humongous sharks swim around us. Talk about AMAZING! Unfortunately, since we had not planned this great day, we had no camera to take any pictures of the wonderful things we saw and did. But before we left the aquarium to head home, we stopped by the aquarium gift shop and got a souvenir seahorse magnet. I have to say...we've had some really good days here lately. It's amazed us how simple the days activities are, how much fun we have and how blessed they all have been. Just goes to show, Heavenly Father is in all things...no matter how small or insignificant we think they are.
