Snow Day...well, Ice Day...

(Sorry for all of the pictures, but there is no way to describe this Winter weather without them.)

Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning we got lots of freezing rain here.

We were amazed how ice was sticking to...everything.

It went from this Tuesday evening...

to this ice and snow mixture Wednesday morning.

So needless to say, Ed and I had the day off from work.

Ice started weighing down one of our trees I (Tiffani) park next to. I decided to move my truck because the branches were already starting to lean on my truck.

Good thing I did! Now the tree is touching the ground!

We lost our DirectTV signal, I wonder why!?!

Couldn't be the 3 plus inches of ice on it?

Having no televison signal inside,

we decided to enjoy the beautiful Winter weather outside.

The ice is sooooo thick on our branches!

We also decided to warm up the trucks,

since they were covered in ice and snow.

We are most definitely not in Texas anymore!

I think this weather is just getting us acclimated to snow and ice

since our plan is to move further north.

Today, history was made and we have hope again.

Thank you Circuit City!!

I'm sure most of you know that Circuit City is going out of business. Well, we took a little trip over the weekend to Tulsa, OK to the Circuit City going out of business sale. We went there especially to check out their prices on tv's. I'm happy to report we are the proud owners of a new RCA HDTV flat screen TV. The tv we had before this one was free with the purchase of our entertainment center (that we purchased from a friend) and has worked well for us, but it was a deal we couldn't pass up. We went from a 27" to a 32" television. Not a huge change, but everything we watch is most definately clearer and brighter. Movie night at the Wilbur's!! :)(Just kidding!)

Christmas in Texas...

This year, Ed and I spent Christmas in Texas. We had a great time visiting and hanging out with lots of family and friends. Here are a few pictures of our fun time. Hope your Christmas was as fun as ours!

Merry Christmas from The Wilbur’s

We are proud to present our first attempt at The Wilbur Family Christmas Newsletter. We’ve wanted to do a newsletter to all of our friends and family for Christmas in years past but felt we really had nothing to tell. This year however, has been very eventful, so we thought we’d give this “newsletter thing” a try.

This year, Edwin accepted a position in Oklahoma as a Concrete Mixer Driver. Accepting this new position presented us with the major goal of moving from Texas and finding a home in Oklahoma. Near the end of March 2008, we had all paperwork completed for our new home. April 2008 I (Tiffani), said goodbye to Texas as our home, and joined my husband in our new home in Oklahoma. We have enjoyed this inspired change in our lives. Ed has thrived in his position. He has been trained as the Relief Batchman, received several performance raises and promoted to a larger concrete mixer truck. I returned to work in June after a two month break. I accepted a position at a Waste company as the Scale Operator. I haven’t been there very long, but I’ve learned many, many things I didn’t know about this industry and look forward to learning lots more.

As the months have gone by, we have enjoyed all the projects of making our home ours with our own personal touches. Unpacking and decorating inside, putting in flowers, putting in a driveway, adding a patio, and building a storage building in the backyard, just to name a few. In an effort to add even further to our home, we are planning to adopt a child to into our family. Hopefully for the New Year 2009, we will look forward to being parents. Luckily, we’ll have grandparents, uncles & aunts, and nieces & nephews close for advice, assistance and play dates. With a child being added to our family, we’re hoping our Christmas Newsletters in years to come will be much more exciting.

Throughout the year, there are many changes and busy times in all of our lives, but we wanted to take a brief moment to say we are delighted that we have you as friends and family. Thank you all for your friendship and love.
