Thanks Gwen! (For the Young Women Ideas)

I don't know how many of you know, but I'm currently Young Women's President in my ward at church. As a YW Presidency, have been hunting for new ideas of things to do with the girls. From searching online to asking friends from other wards. I just happen to steal a few ideas from one of my good friends Gwen. Here are some of the activities we've done from some of those ideas. (THANKS AGAIN GWEN!)

One activity was tropical Spa Night, were the girls relaxed to tropical music as they pampered themselves.

The girls really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

We had a "Pedicure" station, for complete pampering of the feet.

A "Make Up" station to try out a new look.

A "Manicure" station to show off those beautiful hands.

Another activity was "You're Worth 100 Grand".

(*The treat at the end was 100 Grand candy bars.)

We had the Young Women design temple wedding dresses using bathroom tissue. The key is, they had to be creative but maintain a modest flare. We had a fashion show at the end to showcase our designs to their mothers. They did a great job and were very stylish too!

This design was a team effort.

These two teamed up to show off their design as well.

Overall, I think the Young Women got the purpose of the activity and it turned out great!

The 4th!

Sorry it's taken forever to post how we spent the 4th of July this yr. We spent it in Texas hanging out with old friends and their families. Here's pictures from the fun we had!

Decorating

I've done some recent decorating. The gold sconces I painted with the help of our adoptive Grandma Rusty in Texas. They look great and with the help of my husband they were put up today. I'm thinking of adding some white candles and sponging them with gold.

Wilbur/Austin Family Reunion

Last weekend was the Wilbur/Austin Family Reunion in Norman, OK. It was lots of fun in the summer sun. Wilbur's came from far and wide to attend.

Our "Green" house

Our house is very "green" this year. This was taken only a few days ago. The flowers we planted when we first moved in are really starting to come in and bloom nicely.

Our house has a new color now, from "winter brown" to "summer green".

Surgery

My mom (Tiffani's) had total knee replacement surgery on her left knee June 1st. This is the picture of when I came down to her rehab that Thursday of that same week. She was only there in rehab one week... thank goodness.

Now she is home doing VERY well.

Before long, she'll be running around the block! (maybe...)

Well I'm not blind, but it turns out I do need glasses. I officially have to wear them "as needed", like when driving or any other occassion that might call for me to see distances.

I didn't realize what I couldn't see, until I put the glasses on this afternoon.

So, here I am...now with glasses.
